Glamourpuss Creations
South End and Providence Open Market

After a life-long obsession with all things old, Lisa decided to turn forgotten vintage materials like barkcloth fabric, bakelite buttons and lucite beads into funky, modern jewelry. She loves to break the color 'rules' by mixing unexpected hues, finding inspiration from nature, found objects and her oh-so-stylish friends.

Happy Owl Glass Works
South End Open Market

Tracy has always been fascinated by the likes of birds, trees and simple curiosities around her that deserve a closer look. She tries to incorporate these ideas into her glass, feeling that they are reachable by many walks of life. Tracy pursued the media of glass with a background in graphic design. "Because of this rigid mindset, I can't seem to shake the look of hard lines in much of my work. However, I try to create a complimentary mix of warm subject matter with fine technical detail to amount to a friendly body of functional glass work." - Tracy Bull Owner

Boston Handmade

Bhm

Boston Handmade was founded in March 2007 by artist Jessica Burko. The interest in developing the group was to gather local Boston area artists, craftspeople, and artisans who were actively engaged in selling their handmade work on Etsy.com, a web site dedicated to the handmade life. Gathering like minded, independent, creative people to work together towards reaching their common professional and artistic goals was the original driving force behind the idea of Boston Handmade and continues to be the focus of the group. Operating a bit like a guild, Boston Handmade is an organization of people with related interests and goals, gathered to support one another and to maintain the interests of group members.

All group members write articles for the Boston Handmade blog and participate in organizing group activities like skill-share workshops, social/networking gatherings, art fair/craft shows. Members of Boston Handmade are juried into the group by all current members. Any Etsy seller in Massachusetts is welcome to be a part of this Boston based group as long as they are willing to participate – we don't believe in having members in name only. Many of the group meetings are held in the South End, and activities, gatherings, and group shows are primarily held in the greater Boston area.

Many members of Boston Handmade participate in the South End, Mashpee, and Providence Open Markets, as well as the First Thursdays Art Walks in Jamaica Plains.

Current members of Boston Handmade represent the following media categories:
Accessories, Art, Clothing, Collage, Home décor, Jewelry, Paper goods, Photography, Soft sculpture, Spa products, Textiles. Members of Boston Handmade knit, draw, photograph, sew, bead, metalsmith, design, and create in their own innovative ways. To find us on http://www.Etsy.com search for "BostonHandmadeTeam"

Stitch House at the South End Open Market!!

Sh

Knit - Sew - Quilt - Create at the Stitch House in Dorchester
Every Sunday @ the South End Open Market

Opened in September 2007 by Annissa Essaibi George, a lifelong resident of Dorchester, this little yarn shop isn't just for knitters. Knitting classes are, of course, offered, such as How to Knit Cool Stuff Without Quitting, for beginners, and Cables Untangled! For intermediate knitters looking to take their skills to the next level with an Aran sweater or afghan. But the sewing room is always busy, too. Classes range from How to Dress Yourself, an introduction to sewing, to Irish Chain Quilting, to Roman Shades and Decor Pillows for those looking to update their homes. This summer we'll feature week-long camps for kids and pre-teens, introducing them to new skills and making a useful or wearable project. Check out the website for upcoming classes and special one-day workshops.

May 17 & 18 . June 29 . July 27 . August 31 . October 26

Shaun is a self-taught metalsmith who likes to put things in little boxes. His one-of-a-kind and limited-run designs are influenced by the intersections between industrial and landscape forms. His jewelry is made of sterling silver, copper, and other materials such as mica and surfaces are often oxidized or otherwise finished for a weathered though contemporary feel. The results are contemporary designs that aren’t afraid to be bold while retaining delicate or whimsical elements to draw you inside.
