Here 's Rebecca's Profile, she is 16 and work is amazing!
Alright, well...my name is Rebecca Volynsky, I'm sixteen, and a junior at Classical High School. I've been attending New Urban Arts (a non-profit studio for high school students and artists) since Freshman year, and participated in mentor groups dealing with various mediums (ranging from sculpture to screenprinting). I would have to say that my favorite medium is screen printing, because I really love the complicated and long process that it involves. There is something about creating crazy, multi-layered designs that eventually make a really satisfying, ridiculously insane looking product. I began printing in my Sophmore year, and was mentored by Jean Cozzens as well as Heidi Born (two very well known Providence-based screen printers...their work was featured in the RISD "Wunderground" poster exhibit).
I'm really fascinated by the Providence art/music scene, and usually find myself attending different shows at AS220. Althought I'm not exactly influenced by it, I would have to say that the music scene is definitely associated with the huge underground screen printing scene around town. I love everything about the screen printed concert posters that you can find in any local coffee shop here.
Over the past year I've been experimenting with collage, and came up with the idea of collaging altoid cans. Usually the work that's in my hand-made sketchbook (which is the stuff I put on my flickr account) is inspired by the female voice...eventually resulting in crazy layered and detailed pieces.
Recently I designed an album cover for Samantha Crain, a county/folk/blue-ish musician from Oklahoma...I'm really overwhelmed by this opportunity because that was pretty much what I want to do as a career, which is graphic design.
I'm planning on making tons of altoid can compacts, hand-sewn sketchbooks, screen printed tshirts and prints, as well as enlarged copies of my own collage work (on glossy-ish paper) for the market.
