Every Sunday @ the South End Open Market
Designer Charissa Wade looks to provide hip new moms with modern baby items to fit their contemporary style. Her signature baby hats evoke a "European" style that sets them apart from your normal baby wear.
Charissa bases her business from home in Brockton, MA. She first began sewing 3 years ago after a shopping trip to the local baby superstore turned up nothing original or unique for her own daughter. Armed with a vision and desire for something different, Pogibabies was born. Wondering where the name came from? It’s is a combination of Charissa's two cultures: "pogi" from the Filipino language meaning handsome, paired with the word "babies".
In 3 years time, this self-taught seamstress has taken her craft from hobby to full-time business. You can find her at the SOWA Open Market, on Etsy, and currently in select children’s boutiques: Tadpole in Boston and Rhythm + Pink in Newport, RI. Charissa has recently become a member of Boston based group: Boston Handmade. Look for new things this season from Pogibabies as she is continuously developing new items and is always on the hunt for fun modern fabrics. Who says babies can't be stylish too!
She was also one of our Halloween Costume Contest winners, she came in third place as a 70's prom zombie !
