Angela Stasio of The Paper Apartment is a mixed-media artist with a particularly soft spot for paper and collage. Her work ranges from small pieces constructed entirely of paper and found vintage images to full-scale illustrations incorporating a variety of media including paper, fabric, acrylic paint and colored pencil.
Much of Angela's work is inspired by her love of fashion, textiles, pattern and "anything old-timey." She also finds that her best work is created with one particular customer in mind: herself! "My objective in making anything is that the end result is something that absolutely appeals to my personal aesthetic. I strive to make pieces that I would want to have in my own home, and things that I might even have a hard time parting with. Its wonderful to find a customer who responds to my work in the same way."
A native of the Boston area, Angela currently lives and works from her home in Allston, Massachusetts. She studied Communication Design with a concentration in Illustration at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and currently operates an Etsy shop under the name The Paper Apartment. Items to look for in the future from Angela include original paper collages and mixed-media pieces, prints, paper dolls, cards and other paper surprises.
