South End Open Studios at the Market – September 20th and 21st – This Weekend!
In conjunction with Open Studios, the SoWa Open Market will be open both days this weekend from 10 am to 5 pm. Open Studios brings together over 300 artists from the South End. Artists open their studio doors to visitors who have the unique opportunity to meet the artists and see their spaces. And in the midst of it all is the SoWa Open Market with 120 vendors who bring a variety of handmade goods ranging from clothing to jewelry and accessories to furniture. Stop by the Market at 540 Harrison Avenue where we offer visitors baked goods and fresh organic produce for lunch as well as local music for your listening pleasure, plus an opportunity to pick up a handmade gift, a one of a kind souvenir or an affordable piece of art.
Baked Fresh – Sunday October 5th-In Boston’s South End
On October 5th, the SoWa Open Market teams up with MAP Boston to bring you an event that combines cool local music with new original art and funky handmade crafts. The first annual (read: completely experimental) Baked Fresh- Indie music, design and art festival will be at 540 Harrison Avenue from 10 am to 5 pm, with music starting at noon and the bar at Gaslight opening the moment it legally can. Check out live performances by Emily Elbert, Tripl3 Crown, Adam Payne, The Sterns and DJ Red Foxx (to name a few) while shopping for funky jewelry, perusing cool local art and sifting through racks of vintage clothing.
Need more incentive? Show up in your favorite pair of Converse shoes, and we’ll sign you up for a raffle to win free market stuff. Or alter your old, worn-out Converse kicks and wear them instead to enter our custom design Converse contest.

The Market of the Living Dead - October 26
Get your dead on – it’s time for the annual Vendor Costume Contest. The event has become kind of a tradition for the SoWa Open Market and we’ve got quite the reputation in the neighborhood. This year it’s dead serious, seriously. Participation is mandatory, and the bloodier the better. If you don’t come as a zombie, we guarantee you’ll leave as one. In celebration of the end of another successful market season we’re inviting all of our vendors to participate whether you are selling that weekend or not.
